What’s a better place for a stakeholder co-creation meeting than a carp farm in summer?
On 4 August, the OCCAM Case Study 1 team, West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin (ZUT) and Ińskie Centrum Rybactwa sp. z o.o., met with Polish carp pond farmers to discuss Prototype I of two new solutions:
- Farm water availability self-assessment: a seasonal water availability indicator,
- Sediment capture at the pond outlet: a sediment filter that removed 59% of suspended solids, 67% of nitrogen and 58% of phosphorus in field tests.
Discussion went beyond the tech itself, covering climate impacts on production, implementation barriers, environmental and socio-economic aspects, and business models.
The critical feedback from around a dozen participants is already shaping Prototype II, including a longer forecasting horizon and a self-cleaning filter screen.
Thanks to everyone who joined!
